Last year, Meta made significant upgrades to the Threads timeline, giving users the ability to create custom feeds and select which feed they want to view by default. Now, Meta has unveiled another exciting feature for Threads: the capability to share custom feeds with others.
Sharing Custom Feeds on Threads
As highlighted by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Threads now includes an option that allows users to share their custom feeds with other individuals. This feature means other Threads users will be able to view and save the feed you’ve crafted, which includes all the accounts you’ve selected. It’s an excellent way to share a tech news feed with a friend, for instance.
To make a custom feed visible on your profile, simply tap and hold the feed you’ve set up at the top of your Threads app, then select “Edit feeds.” You’ll notice a “Public” toggle – just enable it. Sharing a custom feed with someone is quite similar; however, instead of using the toggle, click on the “Share Feed” button to send it as a link or a direct message.
The custom feeds will appear in the top tab of the Threads app’s main screen. Additionally, a shared feed can also be pinned to the home screen.
“Since launching custom feeds last year, users have curated feeds based on popular interests such as sports, literature, art, astronomy, fashion, poetry, design, and more, enhancing the lively communities and discussions on Threads,” Meta shared with DMN.
The functionality to share custom feeds is now being rolled out to all users worldwide. The Threads app is available for free on the App Store. Make sure to update the app to the latest version to access these new features.
