‘Duets’ makes users able to respond to each others’ videos and interact with the main video by adding a new clip to the original video uploaded by the creator.

‘Duets’ is a major element in TikTok’s interaction process. Currently, users will even have more ways to interact with other users based on their videos.

TikTok Duet formats

As you can see above, the new Duet formats are:

  • Left and right – This is the traditional Duet mode, which puts your clip beside the original video
  • React – This provides users style of a streamer, picture-in-picture appearance to display your interact to the original video
  • Top and bottom – covers your new clip on the original one – which – as you can see below- may lead to some interesting collaborations
  • Three screen – Making more users able to be involved in one clip

As stated, Duets are one major element on TikTok, basically, the functionality has been so famous that it has reached ‘copied by Facebook’ status. with Facebook’s testingg NPE team releasing a cooperative music application named ‘Collab’ in May, which essentially uses the same idea.

The new options will be popular and will offer new ways to make more engagement to the application, even though the Collab originated the 3-layer Duet option.
