TikTok’s Resurgence: Creators Express Concerns About Its Future

According to traffic logs, TikTok has made a comeback after its temporary offline status, yet content creators are expressing concerns about the app’s unpredictable future.

While some creators are bracing for the worst and planning for a potential shutdown, others believe TikTok serves a distinctive purpose, making it challenging to replicate their success on alternative platforms.

TikTok’s Recovery Amid Creator Concerns

According to domain name service traffic logs, traffic to TikTok’s servers has rebounded following the app’s brief downtime. However, it remains approximately 10% lower than prior to the shutdown, as reported by CNBC. This drop may indicate a small fraction of users who have not kept up with the news and remain unaware that the app is operational again.

Despite this recovery, the legal situation persists, and even the questionable enforcement pause initiated by Trump is set to expire, leading many creators to remain apprehensive. Some are ensuring their presence on other platforms, including YouTube Shorts.

“I’ve somewhat come to terms with it possibly disappearing,” remarked Dylan Lemay, a creator boasting over 10 million followers on TikTok. “When they initially threatened to eliminate it, I realized I needed to prepare for the eventuality of this happening.”

Conversely, others have found it challenging to recreate their TikTok audience on different platforms.

Noah Glenn Carter, another creator with nearly 10 million followers on TikTok, has struggled to amass a similar following on Instagram and YouTube, where his audience and view counts are substantially lower.
