Tom Holland has reflected on his memorable 2017 dance to the song “Umbrella” by Rihanna.
The 27-year-old British actor admitted that while he was “proud” of the trending moment, his followers would “never catch” him acting the same way going forward.
Holland participated in the US TV program Lip Sync Battle, where celebrities compete to do the finest lip-syncs of well-known songs, to promote his 2017 movie Spider-Man: Homecoming.
When Holland covered Rihanna’s 2007 hit song “Umbrella” and performed it while wearing fishnet tights, a black bob wig, and makeup, the performance went viral.
Tom Holland Is Proud Of His Performance
Holland told The Hollywood Reporter that she was proud of the TV appearance. It’s good that it had an influence that lasted. It was a wonderful time. Coming soon was Spider-Man. I was moving up. For the first time, I was receiving offers and declining them, which was ridiculous.
But Tom Holland declared that he wouldn’t return to the TV program. “I’d never do it today, would you believe it? I’d rather play a round of golf and lead a quiet life, said Holland.
It’s a fascinating one, the actor stated. Holland claimed that he wasn’t aiming to make any statements about masculinity, even though the performance has since been praised as progressive.
“I could care less. I was raised in the purest, most manly setting imaginable. “I was simply thinking, ‘Yeah, f*** it, I’ll put on some fishnets and dance in the rain. It’ll be a lot of fun.
