Tommy Lee Opens Up On His Idea Of Sex And Gender
Tommy Lee, 60, said on Instagram, that he had deleted his post which was controversial because he was not a transphobic person or in opposition to the queer community. Nor was he against any other community, and added that he was perhaps the gayest person around and openly so. However, simply put, he objects to the lengths to which certain issues have been stretched. He continues that being born a male and recognized as a female or being a female and recognized as a male. However, Tommy Lee expressed, it baffled him when people begin dressing up as infants or animals.
The APA stated in a statement at the beginning of this year that the term “transgender” worked as an umbrella word for people whose identity, behavior, or expression is not in agreement with the assigned sex they had been at birth. According to the organization’s definition of gender and sex, “sex is determined at birth, denotes a person’s biological identity as either female or male, and corresponds primarily with bodily characteristics such as DNA, hormones prevalence, and both internal and external anatomy.”
As per American Psychological Association, gender is more about the social role that people happen to associate with a particular sex.
