Apple has rolled out a series of software updates across its platforms, including iOS 18.4 and macOS 15.4, among others. tvOS 18.4 might be a minor update, but it brings several appealing enhancements to the Apple TV app. Here’s a look at what’s new.

With services like Netflix and YouTube probably rounding out the list of favorite apps, the Apple TV app remains the primary choice for tvOS users that’s developed by Apple.
tvOS 18.4 introduces several subtle yet impactful adjustments to the user interface.
One of the most noticeable changes centers around the featured title carousel.
At the top of the Apple TV app, there are three significant updates to the featured carousel:
- A large plus button for effortlessly adding titles to your Watchlist.
- Next to it, a prominent ‘i’ button for quick access to a title’s information page.
- Enhanced visibility for show release schedule details.
While these adjustments may seem minor, they greatly improve navigation within the app, especially noted during the beta testing phase.
Scrolling further down in the Apple TV app, you’ll notice updates to the fonts and icons as well.
Specific content sections now feature new icon designs, including:
- Movies Spotlight
- Sports
- Friday Night Baseball on Apple TV+
While none of these changes are monumental, it’s encouraging to see Apple continuously enhancing the design of the Apple TV app as it caters to a growing user base, ultimately improving user experience and navigation.
