Samsung’s Android VR headset design shows clear ‘inspiration’ from the Vision Pro, but Vivo has elevated the concept with its Vivo Vision. Though there are distinctions, it could easily be mistaken for the original at a glance…
UploadVR has referred to it as a flagrant clone of the Vision Pro.
The Vivo Vision approaches the territory of outright duplication. Its gray fabric facial interface, rear strap, external battery, and connector are strikingly similar to Apple’s, with the name “Vision” being directly copied. The only significant design difference is the metallic-looking side arms, unlike the white plastic used for the Apple Vision Pro.
The company even employs the phrase “spatial computing” to define its mixed-reality headset.
In contrast to Samsung’s prototype, no one outside Vivo has had the opportunity to test it, leaving uncertainty about whether this is a working model or just a mock-up of the proposed design.
Vivo claims it is developing this alongside other robotics initiatives.
During his address, COO Hu Baishan announced the establishment of the Vivo Robotics Lab. By leveraging ten years of “BlueTech” expertise in areas such as AI and imaging, along with the real-time spatial computing features from Vivo Vision, the company intends to focus on two primary aspects: the “brain” and “eyes” of robots.
Simultaneously, Vivo will target the consumer segment, creating robotic solutions for personal and household use. Vivo’s mission is to transition technology from laboratories to daily life […]
Looking forward, Vivo envisions a future where robotics enhances everyday experiences and is committed to partnering with industry stakeholders to introduce robots into homes worldwide.
Vivo Vision is expected to launch in early summer, but the company has yet to disclose any specifications or pricing details.
