The latest update for the Waze app on Apple CarPlay enhances navigation by allowing users to reach their home or workplace with a single button press.
With the new iOS update, Waze is introducing a shortcut button within its CarPlay interface, enabling drivers to effortlessly start navigation to their designated home or work addresses. This button is conveniently located above a new Search shortcut button, both situated adjacent to the incident reporting feature and the speedometer.
These updated shortcuts significantly streamline access to these features, which were previously hidden within a different menu.
As noted by AutoEvolution (in a rather dramatic tone), this shortcut used to be positioned within the auto-hiding bar at the top of the Waze CarPlay app. Now that it has been moved to the main screen, it offers increased accessibility, a welcomed improvement while driving. The Search interface, however, remains unchanged.
Keep in mind that these buttons will disappear during active navigation, with the search button returning to the top bar.
