Wendy Williams has requested that she get to meet with Sherri Shepherd, her show replacement, who is preparing for an avalanche of adverse vibes before the show debuts sometime in September.
Wendy Williams stated that she was working on several projects and is receiving support all around. She added that she would love if given a chance to speak with Shepherd face-to-face.
Wendy Williams’s response came even as sources close to Shepherd said that Shepherd is prepared for Williams to lose control once Shepherd’s show goes on air.
Wendy Williams publicly disapproved when she told Fat Joe that she would not be watching Shepherd’s shows as she knew what would be dished out, and she was not interested in it.
Shepherd’s representatives have hit back, saying that Shepherd and the team were expecting and ready for a flurry of disapproval from Wendy Williams once the show hit the airwaves.
Williams’s representative Shawn Zanotti said that Shepherd was trying to health shame Williams despite the latter creating multiple opportunities for Shepherd. She added that Wendy Williams was an icon who should be appreciated as one.
New Plans By Wendy Williams
Williams’s attorney LaShawn Thomas said that Williams‘s request to ensure a direct meeting with Shepherd was the best way forward to resolve the differences as Williams had no ill intent or ill will and was just moving to get a show back on stage.
Williams had revealed earlier in the week that she had podcast proposals for months. One source close to her suggested that Spotify and iHeart Radio are among the potential new platforms where she could be seen in the future.
The former diva of daytime will be returning to her roots on the radio if the deal comes through. Wendy’s watchers will recall that she started on radio as a DJ in New York City. The only issue is that while Spotify wants her to prove herself first, Wendy Williams wants a big deal upfront.
