Will the New iPhone from Apple Address This Major Limitation?

The upcoming launch of the iPhone SE 4 promises a host of upgrades, including a significant redesign, an A18 chip, and comprehensive support for Apple Intelligence. However, I still find myself wondering if Apple will finally boost the base storage of the iPhone SE from the current 64GB.

Will the iPhone SE 4 begin at 64GB?

The second-generation iPhone SE, launched in 2020, started at 64GB for a price of $399, with options to upgrade to 128GB for an additional $50 and 256GB for $150. Similarly, the iPhone SE 3, which was released in 2020, also started at 64GB and costs $429, with the 128GB and 256GB variants priced $50 and $150 more, respectively.

This week, a dubious leak from a Chinese retailer suggests that the iPhone SE 4 will start with 64GB (as reported by MacRumors). However, I wouldn’t put much faith in this information, as it likely serves as placeholder data while we await Apple’s official release.

The argument for increasing the base storage to 128GB is strengthened by the inclusion of Apple Intelligence, which reportedly takes up around 7GB of space on your iPhone. This is a significant amount, especially for devices starting with just 64GB.

In light of this, I’m optimistic that the iPhone SE 4 will shift its base storage from 64GB to 128GB. Apple has made hardware adjustments before to support Apple Intelligence requirements, and I believe the same reasoning will apply to the iPhone SE 4. While I may be wrong, this is my current stance.

Looking at the broader iPhone lineup, Apple eliminated the 64GB storage option from its flagship models with the introduction of the iPhone 13 in 2021.

Apple is expected to reveal the new iPhone SE as early as Wednesday, so we’ll have more information soon. In the meantime, how much storage do you expect the entry-level iPhone SE 4 will feature? Share your thoughts in the comments.
